Membership 2.0 1905-style

I just came across this great quote from GK Chesterton's The Club of Queer Trades :

Should a club in London apply strict strictures upon its membership, it would simply be over-subscribed by dint of its exclusivity

Written a century ago, but somehow very relevant to the membership 2.0 world.
